Steve is a Colorado native who has enjoyed working on many projects contributing to the growth of Colorado Springs, including one of his favorites, the multi-phased expansion of the United States Olympic Training Center.

Andrew Baker, AICP

Andrew has been a professional planner for three years in the public sector, and is a complete urban planning and architecture nerd.

Steve Batchelder, PE

Steve has been an engineer in the land development industry for over 20 years and has made it his passion to develop quality designs that reflect well on the company.

Mike Beurskens, PE

Mike is an experienced engineer with over 34 years of experience. He was born and raised in Iowa, where he ended up graduating from Iowa State University. He and his wife first relocated to Steamboat Springs, Colorado about 27 years ago.

Rob Buchholz

Rob is a farm boy from eastern Colorado turned into a city-guy with over 18 years of experience in engineering. In addition to his career, he enjoys all activities in the mountains as well as watching or playing sports.

Sean Callahan, EIT

A Colorado native! Sean was born in Westminster and has been around the area for most of his life. He graduated from the University of Wyoming in December of 2018 with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering.

Paul Casey, PE

Paul and his wife, Kathy, have lived in Applewood for 33 years and have two adult daughters. Paul has worked in the environmental consulting and contracting industry since 1979 and has been a small business owner since 1990.

Will Charles, AICP

Originally from Texas, Will moved to Denver about five years ago and managed to pick up numerous new hobbies, including snowboarding and hiking.

Morgan Clapp, PE

Morgan has civil engineering experience in a variety of land development projects. She has worked on oil and gas projects, commercial and residential developments, and public projects such as community solar gardens.

Troy Cosmas, PE

Troy is originally from Central Florida and chose to relocate to Colorado in the summer of 2016. His educational background is in construction management and large-scale residential land development, with an emphasis in water resources. He is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys a “work hard, play hard” attitude.

Jay has worked in the civil engineering field since 1979.

Aaron possesses land surveying experience in all facets of commercial and residential development, boundary surveying, and construction staking.

Bryan Epley

Bryan has been married to his high school sweetheart for nearly 30 years and together they raised two adult sons in Alaska and Colorado. As a kid growing up in Utah, he always wanted to live in Colorado, and now he can finally say that he does!

Julie Esterl

Julie worked for Las Campanas Real Estate Development in Santa Fe before moving to Wisconsin where she was Planning Assistant for the City of Janesville for 12 years.

Deanne is a seasoned landscape architect with over 25 years of land development practice in Northern Colorado.

Jennifer Gates

Jennifer is a Colorado native with over a decade of experience in business development. She moved around the east coast for a period of time before returning to Colorado in 2012.

Jeremy earned a B.S in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University. He spent the first eight years of his career working on Land Development Projects for mostly private clients. Vince has an awesome wife of 35 years, and three grown boys who are doing well in their careers. He loves to take time off from work and play on vacation usually dealing with water or warm weather.

Tez is originally from Ferguson/St. Louis, Missouri and moved to Colorado in 2015 seeking opportunity and adventure. Tez’s passion for the land use planning profession is derived from his upbringing in a low-income minority community.

Jason Hawley

Jason is from Western Nebraska and eventually relocated to Colorado in 1998. In his free time, he enjoys boating, cruising, motorcycling, kickboxing, and tackling home improvement projects.

Jayme Hobin

Jayme’s responsibilities at Baseline include processing and drafting files that come from and go out to the field. He primarily works on oil and gas certifications along with various other survey projects.

Misti is a Colorado native and has over 30 years of writing experience. Her professional portfolio includes marketing, business development, and public outreach.

Duncan Hotchkiss, LSIT, EIT

Duncan has worked within the surveying industry since 2013, both in the field and in the office. He graduated from California Polytechnic University Pomona with a degree in Civil Engineering with the Geospatial Engineering Option.

Chris Howard

Chris and his wife have two amazing daughters together. He loves spending time in Colorado outdoors, whether he’s hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, or playing disc golf.

Carol Hurst

Carol is a former Florida woman and moved to Colorado last year. As an enthusiast for all things art and nature, she felt Colorado was the perfect place to settle down.

Jake grew up in Loveland, Colorado and continues to call it his hometown. In his free time he enjoys finding new camping spots with his family, somewhere where only off-road vehicles can go, and spending time with his pet Corgi named Copper.

Originally from Oklahoma, Angela moved to Colorado due to a fondness of the mountains and the low humidity in the summers. She has over 17 years of experience as an operator and engineer. She has a passion for treating and protecting our environment through water resources.

Born and raised in Colorado, Doug’s surveying career began in 1995. He has worked on projects throughout the state, conducting surveys for the public and private sectors.

Tim Maxwell, EIT

Tim was born and raised to an agricultural family central Montana. He attended college at Gonzaga University, and moved to the Yampa Valley in 1998. For years, he worked at a Nordic lodge grooming trails, and pursued his passion for skiing.

Terry McGowan

Terry has been in the environmental consulting field for over 40 years. In his free time, Terry enjoys fishing, hunting, golfing, and home improvement projects.

John McLain, PE

John is Baseline’s founder and CEO. He was born in Oklahoma City; however he spent most of his upbringing dreaming of someday living in Colorado.

Danny Miller

Danny is a Baseline CAD Tech II in the Loveland office who loves to go the gym daily and is heavily involved in volleyball on the weekends.

Matt started surveying after he graduated from high school. He has worked in various divisions throughout different industries such as civil, oil, and mining.

Tatum Moorer

Tatum was raised in Colorado and earned her bachelor’s degree in interior design with an emphasis on interior architecture and explored a variety of professional avenues before serving the United States Peace Corps. Upon returning, she pursued her masters degree in landscape architecture.

Luke Myers, PE

Luke was born and raised in Colorado and moved to the Denver area after graduating from Colorado State University. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family camping, hunting, fishing or tackling home projects.

Max Napolitano

Max is a transplant from Maryland. He graduated with a BS in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Maryland.

Todd Nelson

Todd is originally from Wyoming, but eventually moved to Fort Collins where he attended college at CSU. Upon graduating, he immediately went to Japan (where he lived for seven years) to begin a career in teaching. In his free time, he enjoys an occasional hike, videogames and creating new stuff on his 3D printers.

Brenda has lived most of her life on the East Coast. She moved to Colorado in 2018 to be closer to her family. She graduated from Johnson & Wales University. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, crocheting, and doing outdoor activities!

Phillip Parker

Phillip was born in Maine and raised in Virginia. He served 3 years in the Army as a Cavalry Scout stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas and was later deployed to Sinjar, Iraq in 2009.

Jordan Piaskowy, PE

Jordan moved to Golden in 2015 and enjoys running, biking, and most other outdoor sports. He has worked with land development, transportation, drainage, and construction inspection projects.

Liam Reed

Before coming to Baseline, Liam worked as a forester, completing many contracts across the country. His educational background began with a bachelor’s degree in conservation biology with a focus on dendrology.

Kaitlin Reiman, PG

Kaitlin has worked in a variety of industries as a geologist, and is passionate to share her love of the science with others. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband to visit National Park sites and international destinations.

Lauren Richardson

Lauren became interested in urban planning after studying abroad in Beijing. She earned a GIS certificate from University of Colorado Denver and still loves using GIS in planning whenever possible.

Laura Rios

Laura graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering at the age of 20 from the lnstituto Tecnologico de Nogales in Mexico, where she is originally from. She has been a Civil Engineer ever since then and has more than 14 years of experience in the construction industry.

Alyssa has a strong working knowledge in community planning and worked within the City of Greenwood Village for over three years.

Chris was born and raised in Houston, Texas, the oldest of five kids. Now, he loves living a small mountain town and spending time with his wife and two kids.

After working as a sales executive for six years, Ryan returned to school to obtain a degree in Civil Engineering Technology at the age of 34.

Hannah is a recent graduate from Colorado School of Mines. She is passionate about wastewater and upgrading old infrastructure to new and sustainable infrastructure, to support a better future for everyone. In her free time she is an avid adventure sport junky!

Luke Seeber, PE

Luke grew up in Illinois, liked mountains, and moved to Colorado. He has been working in the engineering field about six years.

Dakota Smith

Dakota grew up in a tiny town in the foothills of the Cohutta Wilderness — Cisco, Georgia. His entire family lives there and he is the first to go to college and move away. He graduated from Dalton State College with as BS in biology.

Matt Somogyi

Matt is a hydrogeologist with 18 years of experience in the engineering and environmental industry. His technical focus area is on contaminated site assessment and remediation and environmental compliance. Matt loves to travel, learn about, and immerse himself in different cultures.

Mark Spaulding

Mark has 19 years of experience in the construction industry. He has held various roles over the years such as project coordinator/engineer, project manager, superintendent, and environmental/stormwater management and inspector.

Travis Stephens

Travis has over 15 years’ experience within construction and enjoys being involved with projects and learning new things.

Daniel graduated from Colorado School of Mines with a passion to provide sustainable water and wastewater solutions to communities.

Cameron Stone

Cameron is a Colorado native currently living blocks away from the hospital he was born at. He graduated from University of Colorado in Boulder with a degree in Civil Engineering and has been working in the industry throughout the front range for 6 years.

Kellen Tangora

Kellen was born and raised in Pennsylvania and eventually made his way to Fort Collins, Colorado where he attended college at Colorado State University. In his free time, he enjoys working on cars, hiking 14ers, camping, fishing, hunting, driving through the mountains, and pretty much anything else that has to do with being outside! 

Ben Thurston, AICP

Ben is a land use planner with over 20 years of experience in the public and private sectors. He relocated from Wisconsin to Colorado in 1999 with his family, but somehow his skiing experience is still limited to the iced hills of Wisconsin.

Isaac Tiley, PE

Isaac was born and raised in the Fort Collins area of Colorado and has always wanted to be involved with infrastructure development throughout that region of the state. His grandfather developed a large part of southwest Fort Collins and his dad was a builder.

James Timblin

James been in the civil engineering industry for around six years. working as a surveyor. He grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming and moved back west after living most of the last 20 years in St. Louis, Missouri.

Garrett Tsouprake

During his time studying civil engineering at Colorado State University, he developed a passion for infrastructure and transportation design.  Garrett hopes to combine his engineering passions and experiences to contribute and learn with Baseline.

Originally from Laramie, WY, Laura moved to Colorado about eight years ago and enjoys all the outdoor activities that the state has to offer.

Lachlan Yahn

Lachlan was born and raised in Fort Collins and has family all over Colorado. After graduating high school, he attended Front Range Community College to explore career interests. There he discovered CAD and the greater discipline of civil engineering and design.
