Job Overview:
As a Land Survey Project Manager, you will lead the planning, execution, and oversight of multiple land surveying projects. From managing proposals to ensuring project deadlines are met, you’ll play a pivotal role in the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct land survey projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform and oversee tasks including:
- Well Connect Pipeline Surveys
- Well Head Staking
- Pipeline Route Staking and As-built Surveys
- Construction and Topographical Surveys
- Boundary and ALTA Surveys
- Operate Trimble GPS and Robotic Total Stations, and utilize Trimble Field Software efficiently.
- Proficient use of AutoCAD Civil3D 2014 for creating precise designs.
- Interpret and apply engineering plans to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain quality standards in survey notes, point descriptions, and calculations.
- Collaborate directly with clients to meet project scopes and deadlines.
Additional Duties:
- Provide field documentation for survey crews.
- Guide and oversee survey crews and CAD Technicians.
- Organize project files and maintain documentation for smooth project delivery.
- Assist other departments by training team members on TBC, data processing, and drafting standards.
- Ensure billable time remains above 75%, and manage deadlines for timely deliverables.
Deliverables Management:
- Supervise the preparation of client deliverables, ensuring they meet quality assurance standards.
- Maintain a high standard in work orders, control, and datum setup.
- Manage workload and maintain communication with managers to ensure efficient project completion.
- Evaluate project efficiency and implement strategies to improve field and office processes.
Research & Documentation:
- Conduct survey research, including reading and writing legal descriptions.
- Understand and apply state and local survey regulations.
- Document surveying decisions for future reference and training.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of field experience in surveying.
- 3+ years of CAD experience.
- Strong client-facing skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required.
- Post-secondary training in CAD is a plus.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to work both in office and field environments.
- Office work includes sitting, standing, and occasionally lifting objects up to 30 lbs.
- Field work may require lifting objects up to 50 lbs and navigating rugged terrain.
