Meridian Trust Federal Credit Union created a demonstration garden at their Wellington, Colorado branch that is open to the general public, school groups, and community members to walk through the gardens and enjoy the space. The demonstration garden offers individuals a chance to learn about appropriate garden and landscape choices for their unique, local environmental conditions within the Northern Colorado region. The garden’s focus on education, plants that require low water uses and maintenance, pollinators and butterflies, and garden crops that grow in Northern Colorado. Meridian Trust has partnered with Colorado State University’s (CSU) student design teams in environmental horticulture for the conceptual landscape plan, preliminary plan, and final construction documents for the garden. Meridian Trust has also partnered with the Fort Collins Conservation District to connect with the community through education, outreach, and public engagement. Baseline provided consultation and reviewing services for the CSU student design team plans as well as construction administration services.
