This year, the need for assistance is greater than ever and Baseline for Community (B4C) sponsored our third company-wide Thanksgiving Food Drive. We sponsored four local food banks within the communities we work — resulting in donating over 750 non-perishable items to four different food bank programs: Gilpin County Food Bank, Community Cupboard Food Pantry in Woodland Park, Food Bank for Larimer County, and LiftUp Routt County.
Our annual food drive also sparks a healthy office competition between our four locations (Golden, Loveland, Colorado Springs, and Steamboat Springs) to see which office can bring in the most donations. Our contest is based on the number of items donated per office by employee count. This yearly competition is fierce and our teams strategize, striving to outmaneuver and outnumber each other’s food drive counts. While most are working from home, boxes were placed at each office site and the food drive ran for six weeks so that people had time to shop and safely drop off items at their convenience.
This year’s office winner is our Colorado Springs office with donating 344 items! This office has won the honor of 2020 Top Turkey and received the traveling Turkey Cup trophy along with a pizza party. The prestigious Turkey Cup now resides in our Colorado Springs office throughout 2021 and will travel offices based on who wins subsequent Thanksgiving Food Drive competitions. In addition, Baseline Engineering Corporation will donate $500 to the winning office’s food bank — Community Cupboard Food Pantry in Woodland Park!
Congratulations Colorado Springs!!! Thank you so much to everyone at Baseline for another successful food drive and making a difference for someone this Thanksgiving!
