General Summary:
The Marketing and Business Development Director will manage and drive the marketing and business development initiatives for Baseline Engineering. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing strategic marketing plans and business development activities to grow the firm’s market presence and achieve revenue goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, with a proven ability to generate new business opportunities and manage client relationships effectively. In addition, a proven track record in sales leadership, and the ability to achieve ambitious revenue targets.

Essential Functions:
• Collaborate with the leadership team to uncover insights and strategies for developing and implementing marketing and branding strategies for new and existing services/opportunities.
• Proven experience in a sales leadership role, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
• Oversee and grow the department, consistently identifying revenue opportunities within the established client base and securing new accounts.
• Meet established business development revenue goals.
• Understand key marketing performance metrics and tracking tools to provide market research, forecasts, competitive analyses, campaign results, and consumer trends.
• Plan, coordinate, execute, and evaluate strategic marketing plans designed to differentiate and promote the company’s products/services and achieve revenue goals.
• Work with interdisciplinary teams in business development efforts.
• Prepare statements of qualifications and proposals, and support others in delivering presentations.
• Maintain marketing libraries, databases, web pages, and social media presence.
• Manage multiple marketing activities simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Lead the development of the company marketing plan, working closely with clients, management, creative and content teams, and distribution partners.
• Hold regular meetings with the internal team to review the pipeline, resolve challenges, and provide ongoing training.
• Evaluate, use, maintain, teach, and administer a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.
• Manage and execute PIM (public information management) service line.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Execution:
• Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and business development strategies aligned with the firm’s goals and objectives.
• Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, industry trends, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.

Marketing Management:
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, social media content, and the company website.
• Manage the firm’s brand presence through various channels, ensuring consistent and effective messaging.
• Coordinate and execute marketing campaigns, track performance metrics, and analyze results to optimize future initiatives.

Proposal Development:
• Lead the proposal development process, including the preparation of statements of qualifications, proposals, and presentations.
• Collaborate with technical staff to gather relevant project information and ensure compliance with RFP requirements.
• Conduct quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of proposal submissions.

Client Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
• Conduct client and market research to identify new business opportunities and client needs.
• Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance the firm’s visibility and network.

Business Development:
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including public and private sector projects.
• Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential projects and clients.
• Collaborate with the technical team to develop project approaches and strategies that align with client needs and firm capabilities.

Team Leadership:
• Manage and mentor the marketing and business development team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals. This includes the Marketing Coordinator and Business Development Managers.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages continuous improvement and professional growth.

Skills Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, advertising, communications, or related field.
• Successful track record and experience in senior marketing and sales roles.
• Experience with digital and print marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing.
• Proven ability to plan and manage budgets.
• Proven proposal experience and familiarity with Shipley proposal process.
• Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask.
• Strong writing skills and attention to detail.
• Professional and proactive work ethic.
• High competence in project and stakeholder management.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Competency in Adobe applications including InDesign.
• Proficiency in CRM software

Salary Range:
$90,000 –
$120,000
